I recently moved to the US and an absolute Noob when it comes to US real estate transactions. I had no clue what I was getting into.
I found Findwell through yelp. It was hard to believe that they were as good as the reviewers prior to me suggested. But I went along because of the cash back. At the end of the 6 months that it took me to find the house and move in, I have nothing but praise for how well the whole thing was handled by them.
When Nick Jarman (Findwell), first came to my apt, he walked me through the various steps of real estate purchase and assured me that he would help us every step of the way. And he did.
It so happened that we did a pre-sale (with closing 4 months out) and that added more complication to the entire purchase. But Nick made sure that we had help every step of the way. He even called up the mortgage folks to make sure that the process went smooth for me. He took care of finding a home inspector, and was there during walkthrough and closing. I knew I could call him for every problem I had related to purchasing my home and every time I did he was there to help me.

We absolutely loved Findwell! We were lucky to work with Nick Jarman, who seemed to be available 24/7 to answer our every question. We always got candid information and great advice with zero pressure. As first-time buyers, Nick walked us through the entire process. Our purchase was extra complicated because it was a short sale, and Nick stayed on top of everything for us to make sure that everything was done on time. Also, the REBATE was amazing! Because Findwell's model shares the agent's commission with the buyer, we got a big 'ole check for doing absolutely nothing! We can't understand why anyone would NOT choose Findwell. Nick was truly fantastic to work with. We called Findwell in a pinch when the condo we were renting was suddenly up for sale. Nick was super helpful in walking us through all of our options and gave us a candid estimate of the condo's worth.
He deserves six stars for responsiveness. He accommodated our every request to see other options, answered our questions again and again, and generally stayed on top of everything when we were too busy to keep track. He seemed to be available at all hours and always responded quickly.

Lauren Skow was a fantastic agent. We were initially a little wary as we had heard sketchy things about real estate agents in general and were moving from across the country (only visiting Seattle for a few days and needing to tour as many properties as we could). Lauren sent us updated lists of homes which met our criteria and went out to visit a few which we really like on her own (reporting back with the positives, negatives and pictures). When we finally did make it out to Seattle to look at properties, it was a whirlwind of emotions- but Lauren kept us in check and made sure to point out objective comments. Since she wasn't working off a commission, there was no pressure put on us at all, and in the most sincere sense, it felt like we were looking at homes with a friend (a friend who just happened to live in the city, have access to tour all of the homes we wanted to view, and who had extensive experience noticing details of real estate). When we finally did decide to put in an offer, Lauren professionally took us through the ins and outs of the whole process and then, at the end, gave us over $5,000 back towards closing costs. We recently bought a house with Findwell. Our agent was Michael Schafer. Michael helped us to choose and buy our new house. It took us over 1 year and many house tours to finally pick the house we liked. All this time Michael was with us, organizing house tours, providing information, negotiating with seller agents and helping us with advice. When we finally found the house that we really liked, we had to beat 10 rival offers to get it. Michael was really awesome and thanks to his recommendations we were able to make an offer nobody could beat. You probably would not believe but it is not just higher money that gets you offer selected over others. There were 3 other offers that considerably exceeded ours moneywise, but the sellers preferred us! Michael is a real professional, he has 9 years of experience in real estate business and he knows this stuff in and out. What I especially liked about him is that he will never try to push you into decision or recommend the house which he thinks to be unfitting for any reason. Michael impersonates everything that the real estate agent should be. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new home. - Vladimir A.
From marketing and selling our condo to putting together a successful offer in a competetive situation with our new house, I can't think of any task along the way that could've been done more effectively. Michael Schafer worked with us consistently, patiently and - when called for - aggressively, to bring us to an ideal outcome. Findwell, and in particular our agent Shannon Ressler, were recommended to us by friends (who in turn had been recommended her by other friends). The recommendations are justified! This is a challenging market both in terms of pricing and inventory, but over many weekends Shannon was happy to tour us around homes we found on the Findwell site, and would send us suggestions of homes we consider looking at.
We had a fairly clear idea of what we were looking for, and Shannon would give us realistic insight into why she thought particular homes did - and didn't - meet our criteria. We left every house feeling like we were considering (or, more often, rejecting) it based on a good, objective understanding of its good and bad points. In particular, we didn't have the "hard sell" experience we have heard others talk about from their "buyer's" agent - it always seemed that she was as interested as we were in finding the right house, not just pushing any house to close a deal.
Then, we found the home we wanted. For myriad reasons, it seemed to be out of reach: it was offered above our budget, it had great craftsmanship inside and out that made us wary of whether the price would be reduced further, and on top of that it was taken off the market shortly after we found it! We decided we wanted to wait and see if it came back on the market in a few months somewhere near to a price we could afford. Obviously seeing how much we wanted this particular home, Shannon completely supported us in this decision, even though it obviously meant a delay in us making any purchase that would result in her being paid, and she somehow managed to be both realistic ("it's probably a long shot, but hey...") and optimistic ("let's try!") at the same time.
In the event, after a few months the home was relisted at a price close to our range. Shannon helped us through the contract and negotiation process and paperwork, and we agreed a price we could afford with the seller. But as with any housing transaction in this environment, that was just the beginning :( In the next few weeks, there were tons of subsequent ups and downs and moments of drama over which we had little control - wildly different appraisals to both the upside and downside (now there's an industry that does urgently need regulation, btw), subsequent loan changes, more negotiations, contractual issues as the sellers (understandably) became concerned about whether financing would be obtained .. the list went on and on. Shannon took call after call, offering advice, experience and suggesting possible paths for us to consider - always as an advisor, but leaving decisions clearly up to us.
The deal rollercoaster was not a good time for anyone, but right through we felt that thanks to advice from Shannon (and a great mortgage company who will get a separate review!) we were doing everything we could to get the deal done. She connected us to excellent professionals at various stages - never demanding that we use them, but relaying her experiences of them having worked out well on other transactions - and just generally just helped us feel really good about the decisions we were making.
You will not be surprised to learn after this that we cannot recommend Shannon and Findwell enough :) We are sitting in a wonderful home today that we only like more every day, and that 6 months ago (and 6 weeks ago again!) seemed completely out of reach. Much of this is due to Shannon and the Findwell team who helped us work through the entire process, didn't give up, and who went the extra mile for us when it counted. The Findwell fee rebate is definitely a nice bonus, but having been through this process, that's not the best thing about Findwell or ultimately the reason I would recommend them - it's their ability to actually get the job done, and in such a friendly, professional and supportive way. - Geoff A.
The BEST trait about Nick is how quickly he replies to inquiries. He is an excellent communicator. We had many questions and he patiently answered them. He never made us feel as if we were bothering him, and he made us believe he genuinely wanted to serve.
Genuine. Patient. Easy-going, yet reliable. Follows-through. Provides helpful information and advice (when asked for), and applies no pressure.
Another great trait is he works for YOU. He made us feel someone "had our backs" when going through the trying process of buying a house. He mediated for us with a difficult underwriter, and never made us feel as if we were asking too much of him.

Nick is the best agent we have worked with. I have bought and sold homes before. Nick is personable. His communication skill is excellent. He is patient and flexible. We did not feel rushed. He is also very accommodating to my schedule, He sometimes came to my office to bring the documents for me to sign. He is always on time or early with appointments. He kept us updated in the process. He is very responsive to my emails and phone calls. I sometimes asked a lot of questions. He was quick in researching and providing information on houses we were interested. His excellent communication and negotiation skill helped us get the house in a multiple offer situation. He helped arrange the inspection in a very tight schedule. I will definitely recommend him to my friends and coworkers. He also provided me with extra information regarding rental market beyond his normal responsibility.
