way to prepare yourself for the process.
Offer / Negotiation
- Sit down with your agent to understand what the terms of the offer
are. Ask lots of questions!
- Understand the contingencies that are written into the offer,
how much earnest money is at risk, and what the buyer could do to default their
earnest money.
- If you haven't seen one already, have your agent pull an "Estimated
Net Proceeds" worksheet so you can understand your selling costs.
- If you receive a low offer, it is worth your while to try and
negotiate with your potential buyer.
- Be timely in your response and courteous in your replies.
