A walk-through is a buyer’s opportunity to review the condition of a home prior to the closing of a home purchase. A final walk-through may take place a couple of days or a few hours before closing.

When purchasing a new construction home, the builder will often schedule a formal walk-through to check for cosmetic defects and punch list items.

When purchasing from a private party, a walk-through can be scheduled to ensure that repairs requested in the purchase contract have been completed. A walk-through can also be scheduled to ensure that the home condition has not changed after the seller has moved out.
