Extension to Home Buyer Tax Credit Deadlines Resurrected by House of Representatives

We reported yesterday that the extension to the June 30 home buyer tax credit deadline appeared unlikely to pass, as the tax bill it was attached to was shelved by the Senate. Inman News reports today that the measure is back as a standalone bill, which overwhelmingly passed in the House of Representatives.

The measure could go to a vote in the Senate as early as tomorrow. Stay tuned if you have got into contract before April 30 but are worried about not making tomorrow’s closing deadline for your tax credit.
